How do I register?
Registration is easy. If you have a Facebook account, simply click “Login with Facebook,” on the top right hand side of the page. If you don’t have Facebook, click on “register,” located just above the Facebook login.
What are the costs?
Manhattan Scout never charges. The service is 100% free from adding listings to photos and memberships. All commissions as a result of our service are yours.
Why don’t I see any edit or add Building/Apartment links?
You must be logged in, in order to use Manhattan Scout’s free listing service.
How do I upload apartments?
Login to your Manhattan Scout account and click the link “Add Apartments for Sale,” located in the top right. Or you can click “Add Apartment,” located in your building profile. In order to add apartments, simply follow the same instructions but first switch to the rentals site. Instructions on where to find the rentals and sales page are located above.
If a building or apartment isn’t already in the database, you can upload the building on your own. If this seems complicated, or you don’t have time, simply contact us and we’ll do the work for you. This service is 100% free.
How do I add buildings?
Add buildings by first clicking on, “Add Building,” located on the top right of the page. Fill out all the required fields and then submit your information.
How do I add my favorite buildings/apartments to “My Favs?”
You must be logged in to save favs. On each listing there is a blue “Add to my Apartment/Building Favs,” button. This button is located in the top right of the page. Once clicked, the building/apartment will pop up in your left hand sidebar.
How can I edit buildings?
You must be logged in to edit buildings. On each building page, an edit button is located on the lower right hand side of the building profile. Simply click this edit button to make your changes. Any building can be edited by any logged in user.
Why must every change in the building profile be confirmed by Manhattan Scout?
Changes to a building profile can be made by any user. Because buildings are shared by many, it is safer for all that Manhattan Scout reviews these changes before the edits go online. This is to ensure that information is valid and accurate and not outdated. This is especially beneficial for brokers who share listings, as it ensures that no broker is harmed by negative changes. At Manhattan Scout, we pride ourselves on being a place that makes brokerage simple and as safe as possible.
How can I edit apartments?
- The apartment page must belong to you, in order to edit it. Apartments belonging to other users are not editable.
- Apartments can be edited from their page, by clicking the edit button located on the lower right hand side of the profile.
- You will only see this edit button if the apartment page is yours. Once clicked, follow the instructions and make your edits.
How do I change the rating of a building?
Manhattan Scout has a unique algorithm that determines rankings and ratings. This is not editable. However, it is possible to adjust the rating by adding all of the buildings amenities. If you notice information is missing, adding it should help to increase the rating. If you’d like to remove the rating from a building or an apartment you’ve just uploaded, simply uncheck “display rating,” and this information will not appear on the listing. We strongly recommend including a rating, as many clients tend to be more interested in buildings and apartments displaying a rating.
