Located on Pitt and Houston Streets on the lower East side of Manhattan, The Lee is named after the Larson Family Foundation president, Lee Larson. The 12-story building is home to 256 studio apartments.
Out of these units, 54 will be reserved for young adults, adults with special needs and those aging out of foster care and at risk for homelessness. The building and its apartments are home to state-of-the-art facilities.
Designed by Kiss and Cathcart Architects, known for their environmentally-compatible designs, the property features various eco-friendly attributes. On the outside, the building has been developed with a green roof while the apartments and the building are also host to other green mechanisms and equipment, such as the high-performance condensing boiler, drought-resistant landscaping, individual temperature controls, water-saving fixtures and high efficiency lighting among others.
