Just a short while ago, Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former president Bill Clinton, and husband Marc Mezvinsky bought a beautiful $10.5 million condo at 21 East 26th Street. We speculated at the time about how a Ph.D. candidate would ever be able to afford such a grand pad. Well, now we might know the answer: by selling husband’s former luxury condo inside The Grand Madison at 225 Fifth Avenue.

The Real Deal spotted the listing on StreetEasy. The condo was initially listed in May for $4.475 million, and then right afterward taken off the market temporarily. It returned to the market today, June 17th.

The 1,922-square-foot, five-room, three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom apartment has beautiful Madison Square Park views from the living room and the kitchen. It’s supposedly in mint condition and features a large open kitchen, a luxurious marble en-suite bath and lots of closet space. Unfortunately, no pictures of the unit have been released so far. All we can find are views from the living room and a floor plan. The attached apartment photos are from the 2008 listing when Marc purchased the condo.

Sales data show that Marc Mezvinsky purchased the condo in 2008 for a little under $4 million. The couple’s new home, The Whitman, at 21 East 26th Street, is just a few buildings to the east. Hillary Clinton once said that the couple noticed The Whitman while they were going for a walk and wondered if it had any units for sale. It turned out that it did, and they purchased one. Chelsea and Marc more than doubled their living space in their new home with 4,697 square feet divided into 13 rooms.
