Convicted Financier Cuts Price of his $117M Pad
Hedge fund honcho Stephen A. Cohen, fresh off his $1.2 billion settlement with the government, has apparently decided asking for $117 million for his duplex was a skosh too much.
Cohen, whose company pleaded guilty last month to insider trading that forced them to pay billions in penalties and to stop managing money for investors, has now relisted his sprawling abode at the Bloomberg Tower for, what we guess he considers, a modest $98 million. Keep in mind that it still comes in as the fourth most expensive property listing in New York City.
The 9,000-square-foot, four-bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom, unit is actually comprised of two condos that Cohen purchased for $25.9 million back in 2005 and had transformed into one luxurious abode—the master bedroom alone is a jaw-dropping 1,000-square-feet.
The mega unit is the largest in the 151 East 58th Street building and encompasses the western half of the 51st and 52nd floors of the prestigious tower that boasts an array of famous residents including Beyoncé, athlete Johnny Damon, and NBC news anchor Brian Williams.
