Leonardo DiCaprio on Hunt for New York Apartment
Leonardo DiCaprio is out and about in New York City on an unorthodox search for an apartment: seemingly, he has only one criterion in mind—a budget of up to $30 million. The New York Post reports that Leonardo was looking at properties on the Upper East Side, Downtown, Nolita, and Soho, which couldn’t be any more unusual. The only pattern that was observed is his price range—all the luxury penthouses and townhouses he viewed ranged from $25 million up to $30 million.
Leonardo’s latest visit was at 45 East 74th Street, a beautiful Renaissance-style mansion, built in 1879 with 6.872 square feet and five bedrooms. This townhouse has a square-foot price of over $4.300 and has been on the market for over a year. It last traded in 2008 for approximately $13.5 million. It’s a city mansion with hand-crafted bronze and leather banisters, an Italian marble facade imported from Italy, honed millwork panels, and precisely-refined coffered ceilings. It also features several fireplaces, a swimming pool, and something called a terrace spa.
