He’s Back! Famous designer Nate Berkus has indeed come back to the Village after selling his West 9th Street apartment two weeks ago and closing on a new place at 39 Fifth Ave.

OK, maybe he never really left. But for those weeks of not knowing where he relocated to we can now breathe a sigh of relief. He has moved a whopping 650 feet from his old place. Yes, apparently he loves the Village that much.

The interior design guru, who was a frequent Oprah Show guest, sold his previous apartment for $4.95 million after renovating it and adding his own fabulous details—something he has done to a variety of places around major cities over the past few years. We’re sure he will add his Oprah-approved touches to his new three-bedroom luxury penthouse which, by the way, he acquired for $5 million even though it was listed for $5.75 million. We know, great negotiating!

Berkus has a new show called “American Dream Builders” planned for NBC this fall. His new unit is in a 15-story co-op building and has wraparound terraces, wood-burning fireplaces, and, of course, a gigantic gourmet kitchen. Can’t you just smell a magazine spread for the revamping of this pad coming by spring?
