News Anchor Katie Couric Snags a $12M Condo

ABC/Yahoo news anchor Katie Couric and her husband John Molner have just landed a full-floor residence at 151 East 78th Street for the proud price of nearly $12 million. The four-bedroom plus library (or 5th BR) apartment sits atop the Upper East Side just three blocks from Central Park. The property, built in 2014 and designed by star architect Peter Pennoyer, offers ultra seclusion with its limited 14 units among 16 floors. Extras include a gym, yoga studio, gallery and an outdoor space along with the standard 24/7 doorman service. A penthouse at 151 East 78th Street recently sold for almost $30M.

Katie’s new 3,966 sq.ft home boasts a classic charm with its Parisian-like mahogany weight-and-chain, double-hung windows that run floor-to-ceiling.  Handcrafted double-pocket doors and impressive oak flooring with its quarter-sawn, chevron arrays adorn the interior. Further provisions of Couric's "digs" include data-comm ports, an emergency generator, and a humidification feature as part of a “most sophisticated air conditioning and heating system.” As typical for whole-floor units, Katie will enjoy direct access to her apartment by a keyed elevator.

Katie and her hubby currently own a home in the Hamptons - purchased back in 2011 for $6.3M - to savor serene, oceanfront moments.
