President Obama’s original New York City apartment is up for grabs! It is on the market once again by Citi Habitat and still has the potential to offer great bragging rights for a future tenant.

Back when the president was just a student studying political science at Columbia University, he lived in this two-bedroom 142 West 109th Street pad with roommate Phil Boerner.

The prewar building’s unit shows some visible college life wear and tear and could use a little sprucing up, but that adds to the place’s charm. It still has great hardwood floors, built-in bookshelves, and even a picture of a young President Obama on one of its walls.

Well, for a chance to move into the same quarters President Obama once inhabited you will have to pay $2,495 a month, which is a far cry from the unit’s original rent of $360 when he lived there in 1981.

The president’s old Upper West Side apartment was actually listed back in 2012 too. At that time, it was rented for $2,400 a month. The advertising then was designed to attract ambitious young college students and used slogans such as “Live like the President!” which indicated that a future renter might one day become the next president just by living there.

If simply placing a student in an apartment once inhabited by a president could make that student more successful in life, then parents would be all over this place.
