Tatum O’Neal, who in 1974 became the youngest person to ever receive a highly coveted Academy Award for her role in “Paper Moon”, has finally sold her apartment near Chinatown.

Miss O’Neal while trying to sell, had previously offered it as a rental at a price ranging from $6,000 to $7,000. However, there were no takers, perhaps, because of the notoriety caused by her unfortunate arrest. Sincerely hope she has overcome.

At that time she decided to sell at an asking price of $1.495 million with no luck. Finally, just last September, she got a bite, several really. Actually, according to those in the know, there was a bidding war and although it was listed at $1.65 million, it went for $1.72 million. It had been on the market for about 12 years.

The Condo is located within the old Jewish Daily Forward building at 173 East Broadway. It is a small, two bedroom, two bath, one of which is in the master bedroom and is just exquisite. There are 4 rooms, as well as a foyer and 2 walk-in closets. It also boasts a domed ceiling, which was part of the original lobby of the building all in the 1,435-square-foot home.

The buyers are reportedly Daniel and Abby Ziluca. Daniel being NYC's 2012 Ironman Champ.

The broker was Corcoran’s Tim Cass.
