The iconic Material Girl has had a lot to celebrate recently, having finished an ultra-successful world tour and receiving a billboard award for it. And her lucky streak seems to be continuing. The good news: Madonna has finally sold her co-op inside the Harperly Hall building at 41 Central Park West.

The demand for ultra-luxury apartments has never been as high as it is right now. Only a few days ago we reported the unveiling of the buyer of a $90 million penthouse at Extell’s luxury tower, One57. Today it’s 432 Park Avenue’s turn to report a record-breaking deal.

Billionaire Bill Ackman, CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, and a group of investors are the buyers of a duplex penthouse inside One57 at 157 West 57th Street. The One57 building has two penthouses, both of which have now sold for more than $90 million and will most likely become the most expensive apartments ever sold in New York City.

The Upper East Side apartment that once hosted the city’s best parties has found a buyer. President John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, and the notorious Rat Pack are just some of the famous personalities whose presence graced this monumental co-op at 530 East 72nd Street. If the walls could talk, what a story they would tell!

One might assume that celebrity residences are highly coveted, but this apartment apparently proves that that’s not necessarily true. Ben Stiller and his wife, Christine Taylor, had been trying to sell their duplex-apartment at 110-118 Riverside Drive for nearly 10 months before they were finally able to offload it two weeks ago.

Four-time NASCAR series champion, three-time Daytona 500 winner, and future NASCAR hall of famer, Jeff Gordon, has listed his ultra-luxurious condo at Manhattan’s most exclusive address, 15 Central Park West, for $30 million according to a New York Times report.

Record hunting seems to have become the latest craze in New York City’s real estate market. And the newest candidate is the owner of the townhouse at 247 Central Park West. This Upper West Side townhouse—OK, let’s call it a mansion—was just put on the market for $37 million. That’s an Upper West Side townhouse record! 

After years of discussion and planning, New York City’s first bike sharing program is almost here. Cities like Washington, D.C., Denver, Barcelona, London, and Amsterdam have had a bike-sharing program for a long time and prove that the concept works. But there is no city like New York City. Monday, May 27th, Memorial Day, is the target launch date for the program and, even though the program is yet to begin, the criticism is getting louder.

Since Ichiro Suzuki moved out of his Upper East Side home, he has spent a good deal of time searching for a new place. Now his search has ended at 111 Central Park North, the NYPost reports.

Guns N’ Roses frontman, Axl Rose, is out and about hunting for an apartment in downtown New York. The “Knockin’ on Heaven’s” door singer had previously rented a place in Tribeca and, according to the New York Post, said that he “likes the people” in New York. So the logical consequence would be a permanent place, and a rep for Axl has confirmed that he is in fact looking for something more permanent.

Clifford Williams, British Bassist of the hard rock band AC/DC, has listed his two-bedroom West Village condo at 63 Downing Street for “only” $1.899 million. Williams has been very active on the real estate market for several years. In 2010, he offloaded his Georgia and Florida homes and bought another Florida mansion in Fort Myers for $5.1 million. 

The American actress Claire Danes and British actor Hugh Dancy have just picked up a townhouse in the Greek-revival style at 19 Downing Street for $6.9 million. The couple sold their 3,861 square-foot loft in Soho for $5.85 million last November while Claire was pregnant. The reason for selling was that Claire wanted to move to a “larger and more family-friendly” home—and now we see what the “Homeland” star was looking for.

The beautiful actress, Tea Leoni, has finally bought her own pad on the Upper West Side at 190 Riverside Drive for $5.1 million. But, to tell the whole story, let’s get back a little in time. Reportedly, Leoni is the separated wife of David Duchovny. They might appear here and there together; nevertheless, it seems like it’s over with the dream couple.

Actor, director, and writer Matthew Modine and his wife Caridad have sold their apartment inside Loft 25 at 420 West 25th Street for $2.1 million. Modine, best known for his role as Private Joker in “Full Metal Jacket,” paid $1.73 million for the apartment five years ago—so he’s making a nice profit of $430K. Regardless of the win, it was still sold under ask, which was initially $2.29M last October; it then dropped to $2.175M in December, 2012.

Guess who’s back? The Charles, at 1355 First Avenue. The development has been on and off for over five years and now it finally looks like that a happy end is in sight. The building should be completed in 12–18 months and Curbed reports that the Charles will launch sales on May 1st.
