Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, and the notorious Rat Pack are just some of the famous personalities whose presence graced this monumental co-op at 530 East 72nd Street. If the walls could talk, what a story they would tell!
Guess who’s back? The Charles, at 1355 First Avenue. The development has been on and off for over five years and now it finally looks like that a happy end is in sight. The building should be completed in 12–18 months and Curbed reports that the Charles will launch sales on May 1st.
The Related Companies, L.P., has sold the Monterey, a large luxury rental tower at 175 East 96th Street, to investor Rubin Schron. The 521-unit building was put on the market in January and received bids ranging between $250 million and $300 million, Bloomberg reports.
Just yesterday SAC Capital’s Steven Cohen listed his One Beacon Court duplex at 151 East 58th street for a record-breaking price of $115 million. Who would expect that only 24 hours later another apartment would roll over that price and surpass it by $10 million? Steve Madden: Steve Madden, the footwear giant, and his wife, Wendy Ballew, have just listed their luxurious Italianate style townhouse for $9 million. The townhouse, which is located at 175 East 73rd Street, originally consisted of three separate units. The couple purchased the first apartment in 2006 for $3.6 million, the second in 2009 for $2.2 million, and the third only a few months ago for $1.9 million. Strangely enough, right after the couple finishes consolidating the three apartments into the house of their desires, it goes right back on the market.
We reported a few months ago that Ichiro Suzuki picked up a four-bedroom apartment inside the Laurel at 400 East 67th Street for an astounding $35,000 a month. Considering the fact that he made approximately $17 million last year, 40k should be peanuts. Regardless, Ichiro has decided to move out of the great twenty-fifth-floor apartment with amazing views and hired Adam Modlin of the Modlin Group to find him a new pad.

She used it only occasionally as she’s got another home in Connecticut and a luxury home in Florida for the cold winter months. Lucky lady!
Former couple, David Duchovny and Tea Leoni, have listed their luxury co-op at 170 East 78th Street for $9.25 million. David and Tea bought the apartment in 2008 for $6.25 million but split just three years later.

Pop singer Ricky Martin has purchased an apartment at 170 East End Avenue on the Upper East Side. Although it was originally listed for $6.495 million, Ricky was able to get the unit for only $5.9 million.
The Azure penthouse is back on the market for $13 million. The 34-story building located on the Upper East Side at 333 East 91st Street has had quite a rough time after its crane accident killing two people. Almost five years have passed since the incident, and Azure has started making its comeback with 65 percent of its units already sold.
The condominium tower the Isis at 303 East 77th Street has sold 75 percent of its apartments. The Isis was built in 2009 hitting the market at the height of the global recession. The consequence was that developer, Alchemy Properties had to take the units off the market and re-launch them in 2010 at discounted prices.
