Glen T. Senk Sells 1060 Fifth Ave UES Pad

Glen T. Senk, former CEO and director of Urban Outfitters Inc, has sold his Upper East Side co-op for $5 million, according to city records. Mr. Senk bought the UES pad at 1060 Fifth Avenue for $4.56 million in 2006. The initial asking price was $5.95 million back in January but it was reduced to $5.495 million and finally sold for $5 million, after it had been on the market for over 41 weeks. Betsy Green of Prudential Douglas Elliman exclusively brokered the apartment until May when her exclusive expired. Leighton Candler of The Corcoran Group successfully took over the listing.

Mr. Yardeni and Mr. Seiden are founders of Stonehenge Partners, a New York-based real estate company that acquires, redevelops, finances and manages commercial as well as residential real estate.

Mr. Schecter is chairman of steelmaker Marino/Ware Industries and is also the owner of the recently listed $95 million 15 Central Park West apartment.

The six-floor, five-bedroom and five-bathroom townhouse was built in the 1890’s, has five fireplaces, a sweeping staircase and a charming rooftop garden. Alexander McMillan Welch, according to the NY Times, designed it. It had been on the market for 56 weeks and was completely renovated between 2005 and 2007. The oldest building on 5th Avenue between 59th and 110th street was listed for $25 million and has been sold for $32 million, which is nearly 30% above asking price. Not too shabby. The building located at 815 Fifth Avenue has approximately 10,000 square feet, which is divided into 12 apartments and two offices. The seller purchased the building in the 1950’s for $120,000 and converted it into a residential building, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Qatar Prime Minister, Sheikh Hamad purchased a townhouse for nearly $50 million at 22 East 71st Street, reported the NY Post. The deal was made in absolute secrecy without the involvement of a broker, but the deal was instead done through Tower Management Holdings in order to protect the identity of the Prime Minister.

The townhouse was bought from RFR Realty President Aby Rosen who reportedly was famed for throwing incredible parties at the townhouse.

The financially struggling co-op/Hotel on the Upper East Side, The Mark, won a battle against former co-op buyer Roberta Campbell. Campbell refused to stick to the purchase agreement and did not pay the down payment of $4.68 million. The NY Times reports that the buyer found “missing cooktop grates, shower enclosures and a microwave; unfinished floors; and a lack of heat, hot water, gas and air-conditioning”. Unfortunately, this is not an early 20th century slum, so this stuff doesn’t fly. The judge ruled against her as Ms.
