The building at 600 West 58th Street, developed by Durst and designed by Studio V Architecture, is a notable addition to Manhattan's Midtown West. This mixed-use development, completed in 2016, stands ten stories tall and encompasses approximately 120,000 square feet. The project includes a significant retail and community facility component on the lower floors, with 65 residential units above, comprising both market-rate and affordable apartments.
The design of the building aims to complement the innovative architecture of the neighboring Bjarke Ingels-designed building at 625 West 57th Street, contributing to the transformation of 11th Avenue from an industrial area into a vibrant residential neighborhood. The completion of 600 West 58th Street was expected by late 2016, adding nearly 1,400 rental housing units to the block, including more than 275 affordable apartments.
