New York City is naturally a hotspot for big-name film and television studios.  Google’s Youtube has announced that it is opening its fourth creative studio in Manhattan’s Flatiron District—a popular home for Tech Start-ups. Compared to the 41,000 square foot creative studio in Los Angeles, the New York City studio will only about half the space: 20,000 to 25,000 square feet.

Besides bringing more business to New York real estate, the facility will offer tools including green screens, props, and sound stages. Like the Los Angeles Studio—as well as those established in Tokyo and London—the Chelsea studio will host educational workshops and events.

Currently, over 325 channels have over one million subscribers on the website. Set to open in October 2014, Youtube is ready to help creators—at least those with 15,000 cumulative watch hours over the last 90 days—in the New York City area bring their video content to the next level as subscription numbers continue to increase.

The coming studio —located in a high-rise building at 22 West 21st Street between —is Google’s second building in New York City. Their first purchase was Google’s New York City headquarters in the nearby Chelsea neighborhood at 111 Eight Avenue. It was purchased in 2010 for $1.77 billion and is creatively decorated with interiors including a conference room modeled after an NYC apartment.
