Jennifer Lopez Purchases New York Apartment for $20M

Jennifer Lopez has snatched up a luxury penthouse at 21 East 26th Street for $20.16 million. Public records reveal that the buyer was covered by an LLC, but the Daily News reports that the Bronx-born superstar is the actual buyer. 

21 East 26th Street, also known as the Whitman, has only four units, and yet with J-Lo joining the scene it has become quite the little celebrity castle. J-Lo, as the new occupant of the penthouse, has Chelsea Clinton living directly below her. And below Ms. Clinton lives Nascar legend Jeff Gordon, while the neighbor on the lowest floor is hedge fund financier John Silvertz and his model wife, Wilda Deon Bray.

J-Lo’s new duplex penthouse boasts 15 rooms, four bedrooms, and six and a half bathrooms. The full-floor unit has 6,540 square feet of interior space and over 3,000 square feet of exterior space, separated into four terraces. 

The building, which fronts Madison Square Park, was originally built on the park so that it resembled a London trading house. Building amenities include private storage, cold storage, and a fitness room.
