The iconic Material Girl has had a lot to celebrate recently, having finished an ultra-successful world tour and receiving a billboard award for it. And her lucky streak seems to be continuing. The good news: Madonna has finally sold her co-op inside the Harperly Hall building at 41 Central Park West. The bad news: She initially asked for $23.5 million, later reduced it to $19.995 million, and eventually sold it for “considerably less,” brokers told the Wall Street Journal. The fact that she grossed $305.2 million from her recent “MDNA” world tour will probably dry her tears over the loss.

The apartment is a 6,000-square-foot duplex occupying the 5th and 6th floors of Harperly Hall and includes such features as French doors, Juliet balconies facing Central Park, and five wood-burning fireplaces.

Madonna moved out of the apartment back in 2010 due to trouble with the co-op board. Her upstairs neighbors had accused Madonna of playing music and dancing “around so loudly that the apartment above would shake.” It all wound up in a lawsuit with an unknown outcome. We speculate that the judge might have seen the madness of the case and simply advised (or forced) her to move out in order to avoid further battles with the law.

It seems the diva learned from the experience with her neighbors and purchased a townhouse at 152 East 81st Street on the Upper East Side for $32 million.
